Good Morning Everyone,
We have returned from Bhakti Fest are are ready to share what we have learned with all of you! It was truly an uplifting time and a wonderful opportunity for us to laugh and share the Bhav with friends in our yoga community. We thank all of the teachers that graciously subbed classes for us, along with the patience of each of you while Janeen and I were gone from the studio.
We hope to have come back with better ideas and ways to serve you and our yoga community!

Meditation is a mental discipline by which one attempts to get beyond the conditioned, "thinking" mind into a deeper state of relaxation or awareness. Meditation often involves turning attention to a single point of reference. It has been practiced for over 5,000 years. Different meditative disciplines encompass a wide range of spiritual and/or psychophysical practices which may emphasize different goals -- from achievement of a higher state of consciousness, to greater focus, creativity or self-awareness, or simply a more relaxed and peaceful frame of mind.
Our Meditation Classes allows all thoughts and worries to leave and peace to enter the mind and body. It is a wonderful compliment to your Yoga/Pilates Practice and usually takes about 5 times to start to feel the benefits of meditation.
Intro to Ashtanga with Diana~Wed @ 7:30pm
The term "ashtanga" comes from the Yoga Sutra of Patanjali, where it refers to classical yoga's eight (ashta)-limb (anga) practice. The eight limbs are restraint, observance, posture, breath control, sense withdrawal, concentration, meditative absorption, and samadhi ("bringing into harmony"). This method of Yoga involves synchronizing the breath with progressive series of postures - a process producing internal heat and a purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. The result is increased strength, flexibility and stamina as well as improved circulation and a calm mind. Intro to Ashtanga is for those who have attended Beginning Yoga classes and would like to take a more challenging class. The full standing sequence and parts of the Primary Series are practiced preparing you for the Full Primary Series. Bring a towel, a sense of humor, and be prepared to sweat!
