Alexis first started doing yoga about 12 years ago in her college theatre classes. Soon after, what started off as a means to warm up for the stage, yoga became her life focus. After receiving her degree, Alexis began her yoga teaching career. Five years in she co-founded Shanti Shanti Yoga School, which offers two yoga teacher trainings a year. Now almost 9 years later Alexis is a full-time Mom who teaches others how to teach yoga, leads her own yoga classes and retreats while still finding time to remain a student herself by frequenting yoga classes and conferences all over the country. Her style is true to vinyasa flow, but her class formats are always changing, incorporating new creative ways to do the poses while still keeping the focus within. Join her early in the morning and see how her classes can help you to open up your body and nurture your soul.

Myra originally came to yoga to combat the effects of too much stress in her daily life. She found joy not only in the stress relief, but in the beauty & fluidity of the movement & the breath & the feeling of bliss at the end of each practice no matter how rigorous or gentle.

As time went by she decided she wanted to share this joy & love of the practice with others hoping to help them find balance in their lives. She was encouraged to do so by her original teacher & mentor Patrick Freeman. She did her original training with him & taught a couple of years at a Community Center before deciding to add to this training with Cloud Nine under the tutelage of Samantha Gallo & Alexis Kemp.

She Completed her 200 hr certification in 2010. Myra places a strong emphasis on on upper body strength along with flexibility, connection of movement with breath & last but not least a sense of playfulness.

Amee has been practicing various styles of yoga on and off since her teen years. Recently, she realized that a vinyasa flow style is what has kept her grounded in her practice and wanted to share her passion with others. She received her 200-hour Teacher Training through Cloud Nine Yoga and is excited to inspire others on their individual journey. To her, yoga is more than stretching....it is the combination of strength, balance and most importantly the connection to the breath, which leads to peacefulness and mental clarity.

I believe that anyone can benefit from a regular yoga practice. As a yoga teacher and
yoga therapist, I am truly grateful for the opportunity to share my passion for yoga and
its health benefits with my students. After dealing for years with effects of rheumatoid
arthritis, I learned first hand that yoga was capable of healing the body and restoring
health and wellness as well as bringing emotional and spiritual renewal to our lives on
and off the mat.
Having taught Biology for over 20 years, my love of science and the natural world spills
over into my yoga classes in theme, poses, music, and imagery. Each class contains a
balanced combination of meditation, breathwork (pranayama) and yoga poses (asanas)
using the Hatha Yoga style. Emphasis is placed on proper pose alignment, student
safety, special needs, and having a positive experience. Typically, my yoga classes
conclude with Restorative Yoga poses leaving students feeling like they have had a
massage from the inside out. My Yoga Therapy Certification qualifies me to utilize yoga
and Ayurvedic principles to help students dealing with serious disease conditions such
as cancer, heart disease, pain management, arthritis, depression, anxiety, and more.
It is my belief that yoga can be done anywhere by anyone and is especially enjoyable
when done outside in nature. In 2010, I co-authored WALK YOGA LINDA, a book that
presents nine amazing walks on Yorba Linda’s extensive trail system and ideal spots to
stop and do yoga along the way. This book is available at Deep Dog Yoga Studio and
several local yoga studios and I continue to organize and offer group yoga walks

Jody Theissen brings to light the depth of the Yogic practice through a heart-centered approach.  An ardent student of the practice herself, she continually looks for new ways to de-mystify and bring this ancient art to life in our contemporary and at times chaotic world.

“I believe in the power of the breath as it serves to still the judgmental and cacophonous mind.  By allowing the breath to work efficiently and effectively through the physical and energetic body, we gain access to the secrets of health and ease by allowing the release of stored up stress and tension which inevitably leads to dis-comfort and  dis-ease,”
states Jody.

“We all have to power to change the way we view ourselves as well as how we view this world we live in.  Yoga provides us with the vehicle to continue on our journey towards self- understanding and our undeniable link to all that is divine.  By opening the heart we gain incredible insight that teaches us how to make better and more intelligent choices that benefit not only ourselves but also those around us.”

Jody currently holds a Yoga Alliance 200 hour certification through Cloud Nine Yoga.  An ardent reader, she continues to study the works of ancient and contemporary masters, Yogic texts and commentaries as well as attend various workshops and retreats in effort to enrich and engage her students in each and every class.

My yoga journey began about 8 years ago. I found myself with a lot of stress and needed a positive outlet. I tried working out to DVD's at home and eventually walked into a studio, then found myself practicing 6 days a week, reading everything that I could get my hands on and bringing whatever I had learned in class to my friends, co-workers and family. Finally, I made the decision to go through teacher training, so that I could teach my friends correctly.

I graduated from Cloud 9 Yoga Teacher Training in December 2008. I have a deep passion for yoga and for music, so depending on my mood, my classes can range from classic rock to disco, from alternative to classical and everything in between. I am getting ready to embark on my 500 hour training. I have taken classes from amazing instructors all over the country including Erich Schiffmann and Shiva Rae.

. Alisha Vasquez has long been interested in health and fitness. This passion for wellness led her to study the workings of the human body at California State University, Fullerton, where she earned her B.S. degree in Kinesiology. Alisha is also a graduate of Cloud Nine Yoga School’s 500-hr teacher training. She has committed herself to continuing her studies and becoming an expert on everything from exercise and nutrition to holistic healing methods.

Alisha was initially drawn to yoga because of it’s combination of flexibility, strength, and cardiovascular fitness. She has come to appreciate it as a mental and spiritual path toward health. She teaches yoga classes for both kids and adults, always striving to keep her Vinyasa flow inventive and diverse. By expanding her efforts into personal training, Alisha hopes to share her knowledge, creativity, and genuine love for exercise with clients on a more individual level.

Alisha has a very energetic and athletic style to her teachings. She balances the challenge with deep stretching and meditation. Come and join her, as she brings you to a better way of living!

In her never-ending quest to try something new, Michelle took her first yoga class at the student rec center while attending Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She was immediately attracted to the practice's ability to challenge the entire body naturally and without the use of equipment. Several big moves after college afforded her the ability to check out a wide variety of classes, teachers and styles. Each teacher she came across brought awareness to another aspect of the practice, allowing her love affair with yoga to blossom over the years. Eight years after that first class, she completed her 200 hour teaching certification with Shanti Shanti Yoga School. In class she likes her students to consistently challenge themselves, at the same time being mindful of their own unique edges. She wants to help fellow yogis grow their practice both physically and mentally. Santosha, the sanskrit word for contentment, is her favorite Niyama and she hopes to help students find more in their lives. When she's not practicing yoga, Michelle enjoys hiking, traveling and spending time with family. She is an avid reader, a foodie and a general lover of life!
